Dear CKC Member:
In the News
2004 Junior Handling National Competition
Congratulations
to all the kids. You did an amazing job. The National committee out did themselves.
Kelsey Blacklock represented Zone 4 in Obedience and Kylie Kirby represented
us in Conformation. Kelsey to our delight won the CKC Junior Handling Obedience
competition and took a HIT at one of the regular trials. Kylie did an amazing
job in very stiff competition. For more information on Juniors check out this
website http://www.goredlake.com/~dogstar/jh-rules.htm#National%20Competition%20-%20Conformation.
Bill 132
For all you folks affected by Bill 132, August 29,
2005 is fast approaching. Make sure you are very clear on how it affects you
and your dogs. Be diligent. Be careful. And of course love your dogs to bits.
For information on how it affects you at CKC events go to www.ckc.ca then click
on the links for BSL & CKC
Show Information or The Hard Facts on Bill 132 in Ontario to make sure you have
all the facts you need.
2004 Referendum Breeds
Despite the tremendous support the
CKC membership gave this most recent referendum, there has been no official word
from Agriculture Canada as to when we will be allowed to include these dogs in
our events. With any luck at all we will have an answer this fall. Here’s
hoping and watch the CKC site for the latest news.
Fall CKC Board Meeting
September 17 & 18, 2005 is the
next Board meeting. When the agenda is finalized it can be found on the CKC website.
Check it out. If you have questions or wish more information join us at 9:00
am at Head Office for the meeting. Make this club your club.
CEO
The CEO selection committee has been hard at work searching
for a new Chief Executive Officer. The process is arduous but I’m sure
they will see it through. Watch for news of the outcome of this work.
Regards,
Kim Leblanc
Director Zone 4
